இயேசுவின் நாமம் உலகில் இல்லாதபடி அழித்து விட சபதம் செய்த ரோம அரசன் ஜூலியன் போரில் காயமடைந்து உயிர் பிரியும் நேரம் தன் இரத்தத்தை கையில் அள்ளி வானத்துக்கு நேராக எறிந்து "கலிலேயனே,நீயே ஜெயித்தாய்" என்று கூறி மரித்தான்.
இங்கு கலிலேயனே என்று அவன் குறிப்பிட்டது இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவையேயாகும்.

Flavius Claudius Julianus (331–363 AD) was a Roman Emperor.He is known as Julian the Apostate, because of his rejection of Christianity, and attempt to rid the empire of Christianity.
On the Battle of Ctesiphon, Julian was mortally wounded .The same night he died in his tent.The well-known statement, first found in Theodoret (fl. 5th century), that Julian threw his blood towards heaven, exclaiming, "Thou hast conquered, O Galilean?".

His dying words were Vicisti, Galilaee (means "You have won, Galilean")
Here "Galilean" refer to Jesus Christ.

டி.ஜி.எஸ் தினகரன் மரணம்: முதல்வர் அஞ்சலி

இயேசு அழைக்கிறார் நிறுவனத்தின் அமைப்பாளரும், இந்தியாவின் முன்னனி கிறிஸ்தவ போதகருமான டி.ஜி.எஸ். தினகரன் சென்னையில் இன்று காலமானார். அவரது வயது 73.

திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்டத்தை சேர்ந்த டி.ஜி.எஸ். தினகரன், கடந்த சில நாட்களாக உடல்நலமின்மையால் அவதிப்பட்டு வந்தார்.

சமீபத்தில் சென்னையில் உள்ள தனியார் மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கபட்ட அவர், இன்று சிகிச்சை பலனின்றி உயிரிழந்ததாக, அவரது குடும்பத்தினர் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

அவரது மறைவு குறித்த செய்தியை அறிந்த தமிழக முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி, தனியார் மருத்துவமனைக்கு நேரில் சென்று அஞ்சலி செலுத்தினார்.

Evangelist Dinakaran dies in Chennai

Well-known evangelist D G S Dinakaran died at a private hospital in Chennai on Wednesday following a brief illness, family sources said.

He was 74 and is survived by wife, a son and three grand children.

Dinakaran was admitted to the Apollo hospital on January 29 due to heart and kidney ailments. The evangelist, who founded 'Jesus Calls' and made it a worldwide ministry, breathed his last at around 0630 hrs with his family members at the bedside, sources said. Chief Minister M Karunandhi was among the first to place a wreath on the body and pay homage to the departed missionary.

Recalling his long association with Dinakaran, Karunanidhi said he was deeply shocked on hearing the news of his death.

"Lakhs of people used to throng his meetings to hear his speech. Today, he has departed leaving all those people in tears," he said, and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members.

பிரசங்கிகளின் ராஜன் எனப் பேர் பெற்ற ஸ்பர்ஜன் ஐயருக்கு பூந்தோட்டம் அதிகப் பிரியம். அவருடைய தோட்டத்தின் ஒரு பாகத்தில் ரோஜாச்செடிகள் பூத்திருக்கின்றன. இன்னோர் பாகத்தில்-ரோஜாச் செடி பதியமிட்டிருக்கிற இடத்தில் அவருடைய நாய் படுத்துக்கொண்டு பதியக் குச்சிகளை வெளியே இழுத்துப் போட்டிருக்கிறதை பார்த்துவிட்டார்.

ஐயரவர்களுக்குத் தாங்க முடியாத கோபம் வந்து விட்டது. தோட்டத்தின் ஒரு மூலையில் கிடந்த தடிக்கம்பை எடுத்து எறிந்தார். கம்பு நாய்மீது படாமல் பக்கமாய் விழுந்திருக்கிறது. உடனே அந்த நாய் தடிக்கம்பை வாயில் கவ்வி, வாலை ஆட்டிக்கொண்டு ஸ்பர்ஜன் ஐயர் இருந்த இடத்துக்குப் போய், தலையைத் தூக்கி திரும்பவும் தடியை எடுத்து எறியுங்கள் என்று கெஞ்சிக் கேட்கும் பாவனையில் நின்றதாம்.

நாய் நிற்கிற பாங்கினைப் பார்த்து ஆச்சரியத்தில் மூழ்கிவிட்டார் ஐயர். தடியை தூக்கி தூர எறிந்தார். பகுத்தறிவற்ற பிராணி என் கோபத்தை மாற்றி எனக்கு புத்தியும் கற்பித்துவிட்டதே என்றுணர்ந்து நாயை அன்போடு வருடி சமையல் அறைக்குக் கொண்டு போய் நல்ல சாப்பாடு கொடுத்து அனுப்பினார்.

"வருகிறவர்" பற்றிய சாக்ரடீஸ்-அல்சிபியாடெஸ் உரையாடல்

கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு முன் 5-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்த கிரேக்க தத்துவஞானி சாக்ரடீஸ்-ம்(Socrates) இரண்டாம் அல்சிபியாடெஸ்II-ம்(Alcibiades-II) ஆலயத்தில் யாகம் செய்ய போகும்போது அவர்களிடையே நடைபெற்ற உரையாடல் இது.

அல்சிபியாடெஸ்II: யாகத்தில் தெய்வத்திடம் எதைக் கேட்பது நல்லது?

சாக்ரடீஸ்: யாதொன்றையும் கேளாமல் பொறுத்திருப்பதே நல்லது. தெய்வத்தினிடத்தும் மானிடரிடத்தும் நாம் எப்படி நடந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும் என நமக்கு ஒருவர் வந்து போதிக்கும் வரையில் நாம் தாமதித்திருப்பது நல்லது.

அல்சிபியாடெஸ்II: அந்த காலம் எப்போது வரும்? நமக்கு குருவாக வரப் போகின்றவர் யார்? ஆவல் எனக்கு அதிகமாகின்றது.

சாக்ரடீஸ்: நான் யாரைச் சுட்டிக்காட்டிப் பேசுகின்றேனோ அவர் உம்மைப்பற்றி மிகவும் கவலையோடு விசாரிக்கிறவர்.

அல்சிபியாடெஸ்II: அவர் வரட்டும்.அவர் வந்து தமக்குச் சித்தமானபோது இந்த அந்தகாரத்தைத் துடைத்து விடட்டும். நான் இப்போது இருப்பதைக் காட்டிலும் பரிசுத்தனாக வேண்டியது தான் எனக்குத் தேவை. அவர் வந்து எதை கற்பிப்பாரோ அதன் படி நடக்கவே நான் விரும்புகிறேன்.

சாக்ரடீஸ்: நான் பேசுகிற அவர் உமக்கு நன்மை செய்ய எப்போதும் ஆவல் உள்ளவர் என்பதைத் திட்டமாக மீண்டும் உமக்கு சொல்லுகிறேன்.

அல்சிபியாடெஸ்II: அப்படியானால் அவர் வரும் வரை நான் இந்த யாகங்கள் செய்யாமல் இருப்பது நல்லதல்லவா?

சாக்ரடீஸ்: ஆம் ஐயா, நீர் செய்கிற யாகத்தினால் ஆண்டவர் மகிழ்கிறாரோ அல்லது வெறுப்பு அடைகிறாரோ. இதை அறியாமல் நீர் யாகம் செய்வதைக் காட்டிலும் செய்யாமல் இருப்பதே நலம்.

அல்சிபியாடெஸ்II: அப்படியே நிறுத்திவிடுகிறேன்.உரிய காலம் வரும் போது நாம் யாவருமே அவருக்கு யாகம் செலுத்துவோம். அக்காலம் நிறைவேற வெகு நாள் செல்லாது என நினைக்கிறேன்.

மத்தேயு 3:11,12

யோவான் ஸ்னாபகன்-"மனந்திரும்புதலுக்கென்று நான் ஜலத்தினால் உங்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுக்கிறேன்; எனக்குப்பின் வருகிறவர் (இயேசு) என்னிலும் வல்லவராயிருக்கிறார், அவருடைய பாதரட்சைகளைச் சுமக்கிறதற்கு நான் பாத்திரன் அல்ல; அவர் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலும் அக்கினியினாலும் ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுப்பார்.தூற்றுக்கூடை அவர் கையில் இருக்கிறது; அவர் தமது களத்தை நன்றாய் விளக்கி, தமது கோதுமையைக் களஞ்சியத்தில் சேர்ப்பார்; பதரையோ அவியாத அக்கினியினால் சுட்டெரிப்பார்" என்றான்

Socrates-Alcibiades Dialogues

Socrates (c. 469-399 B.C.) was the greatest philosopher of ancient Greece. He left no writings, but his teachings have been preserved (with some embellishment) by Plato and others.

In one of his Dialogues, Plato records a conversation between Socrates and Alcibiades. The great philosopher informs Alcibiades that there is a risk in approaching his god in prayer, lest he should be refused and even penalized. He counsels Alcibiades therefore to keep silence and “wait until we find out how we should behave toward the gods and towards men.”

When Alcibiades inquired as to how long he must wait, Socrates replied that he must wait until “he [comes] who takes a special interest in you” and removes the “darkness. . . in which your soul is now enveloped. . . Afterwards the means may be given to you whereby you may distinguish between good and evil” (Alcibiades II.150; Jowett, p. 805). This passage is remarkable from several vantage points.

First, it confesses there is a manner in which we should behave. Human beings are not free to act merely as they will. They have an intrinsic sense of responsibility.

Second, the philosopher confesses that we wander in a state of darkness in terms of knowing how to behave. Through all the centuries of human history, the moral confusion and ethical depravity of the human family have been painfully obvious.

Third, it acknowledges then the need for instruction as to how men ought to behave. There is the implication that this instruction will be external to man, i.e., an objective body of truth that lies beyond the mere inclinations of his own conscience.

Fourth, Socrates suggests that human beings have a dual obligation – that which is directed towards deity, and that which is obligatory toward one’s fellow man. The former we would call religious responsibility; the latter we would designate as moral or ethical obligation. It is amazing that so many labor under the illusion that simply being “good” to others represents the totality of their spiritual duty.

Fifth, it is clear that this admonition from the famous philosopher is illustrative of the void that was resident in the ancient pagan heart – a longing for release from the heaviness that burdens the soul, and seeks relief from the guilt of wrongdoing.

Finally, the sage of Greece suggested that man’s ignorance would be remedied only when “he who takes a special interest in you” comes. There is the implication that a personal interest in mankind must be evidenced by a higher source.

It is truly thrilling how the revelation from God, as embodied in the mission and message of Jesus Christ, has addressed these basic needs of the human family. Consider the following.


1. The prophets of God repeatedly stressed that without divine revelation, humanity is in a state of “darkness.” At the commencement of his preaching ministry Jesus himself emphasized that through his message those who “sat in darkness” would be granted the illumination of a “great light” (Mt. 4:16).

2. Because of the Creator’s deep “care” (compassion) for fallen man (cf. Mt. 18:27), he lovingly sent his own Son to teach us how to behave (Jn. 3:2; 14:6).

3. The Savior’s instruction was complete, tutoring us as to how we might fulfill our obligation to both God and man. He masterfully summed up the matter with the word “love” (agape), which entails the idea of obedience toward God, and service to our fellows (Mt. 22:35-40).

4. The divine instruction was embodied in a library of sacred literature which found its culmination in the NewTestament. When Paul penned his first letter to Timothy, he suggested there is a manner in which “men ought to behave themselves” (3:15). The word “behave” translates the Greek anastrepho, which literally means “to turn back.” Associated with the word, therefore, is the idea of “return” (cf. Acts 5:22). In the larger context of the Scriptures, it has to do with returning to a divine standard of conduct, and a “manner of life” consistent therewith (cf. 2 Cor. 1:12; 1 Tim. 4:12).

Later the apostle would say: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. . . “(2 Tim. 3:16-17).

How amazing it is that the deep and manifold longings of the antique pagan world were so wonderfully satisfied in the advent of God’s Messiah. We can only stand in awe of the sacred plan of redemption.

யாராவது சூரியனை நிரூபிக்க முடியுமா?

ஒரு பாலத்தின் அருகே அவளுடைய பழக்கடை இருந்தது. தன்னிடம் பழங்கள் வாங்குவதற்கு வாடிக்கையாளர்கள் வராத சமயங்களில் அவள் தனது பைபிளை எடுத்து வாசிப்பது வழக்கம். அவளது விலை மதிக்க முடியாத செல்வம் அது ஒன்றே!

ஒருமுறை ஒரு வாடிக்கையாளர் கேட்டார்."எப்பொழுது பார்த்தாலும் எதை அம்மா வாசித்து கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்?"

"ஐயா,இது கடவுளுடைய வார்த்தைகள் அடங்கிய வேதாகமம். அதைத்தான் நான் வாசித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்"என்றாள் அவள்.

"ஏனம்மா,இது கடவுளுடைய வார்த்தைகள்தான் என்று உங்களுக்கு எப்படித் தெரியும்? யாராவது அப்படிச் சொன்னார்களா?" என்று வாடிக்கையாளர் வியப்போடு கேட்டார்.

"அவரே அப்படிக் கூறியிருக்கிறார் ஐயா" என்றாள் அவள்.

"கடவுள் உங்களோடு தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் பேசி அப்படிச் சொன்னாரா?"

சற்று நேரம் அவள் நிலை தடுமாறினாள்.வேதாகமம் கடவுளுடைய வார்த்தைதான் என நிரூபிக்க வேண்டுமே!

அவள் திடீரென்று வானத்தை அண்ணாந்து பார்த்து சூரியனைச் சுட்டிக்காட்டி, "ஏனய்யா அது சூரியன்தான் என்று உங்களால் நிரூபிக்க முடியுமா?"என்று கேட்டாள்.

"அது சூரியன்தான் என்று நிரூபிப்பது எளிதான காரியம். அது ஒளியையும் வெப்பத்தையும் அளிக்கிறதே!"என்றார் அவர்.

"உண்மைதான், பைபிள் கடவுளுடைய வார்த்தை என்பதற்கான நிரூபணமும் இதுதான். அது என் உள்ளத்திற்கு அனலையும், வெளிச்சத்தையும் அளிக்கிறது"என மகிழ்ச்சியோடு பதிலளித்தாள்.

நல்லவோர் நிரூபணம் அன்றோ!!

சங்கீதம் 119:105 உம்முடைய வசனம் என் கால்களுக்குத் தீபமும், என் பாதைக்கு வெளிச்சமுமாயிருக்கிறது.

மாவீரன் நெப்போலியனும் கிறிஸ்துவும்

மாவீரன் நெப்போலியனிடம் (Napoleon Bonaparte) இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைப் பற்றி கேட்ட போது அவர் இவ்வாறாக கூறினாராம்.

Napoleon's Words - Bonaparte talks of Jesus

Yet, in an extraordinarily staggering statement about Jesus Christ, Napoleon said something that is almost unexcelled by any political leader. I quote it at length because of its incredible insight. I only wish I had it with me when I met with these generals. Napoleon expressed these thoughts while he was exiled on the rock of St. Helena. There, the conqueror of civilized Europe had time to reflect on the measure of his accomplishments. He called Count Montholon to his side and asked him, "Can you tell me who Jesus Christ was?" The count declined to respond. Napoleon countered:

Well then, I will tell you. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne and I myself have founded great empires; but upon what did these creations of our genius depend? Upon force. Jesus alone founded His empire upon love, and to this very day millions will die for Him.... I think I understand something of human nature; and I tell you, all these were men, and I am a man: none else is like Him; Jesus Christ was more than man.... I have inspired multitudes with such an enthusiastic devotion that they would have died for me.... but to do this it was necessary that I should be visibly present with the electric influence of my looks, my words, of my voice. When I saw men and spoke to them, I lighted up the flame of self-devotion in their hearts.... Christ alone has succeeded in so raising the mind of man toward the unseen, that it becomes insensible to the barriers of time and space. Across a chasm of eighteen hundred years, Jesus Christ makes a demand which is beyond all others to satisfy; He asks for that which a philosopher may seek in vain at the hands of his friends, or a father of his children, or a bride of her spouse, or a man of his brother. He asks for the human heart; He will have it entirely to Himself. He demands it unconditionally; and forthwith His demand is granted. Wonderful! In defiance of time and space, the soul of man, with all its powers and faculties, becomes an annexation to the empire of Christ. All who sincerely believe in Him, experience that remarkable, supernatural love toward Him. This phenomenon is accountable; it is altogether beyond the scope of man's creative powers. Time, the great destroyer, is powerless to extinguish this sacred flame; time can neither exhaust its strength nor put a limit to its range. This is it, which strikes me most; I have often thought of it. This is which proves to me quite convincingly the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

Whatever else one may say in response, it is difficult to explain this away as mere eloquence. In fact, it was to counter mere eloquence and such artificial power that Napoleon said what he did. With unbelievable insight, he saw how Jesus Christ conquered. It was not by force, but by winning the heart.
Napoleon understood Jesus far better then Pilate did. Pilate probably had no clue what Jesus meant when He said, "My kingdom is not of this world," or how far into the future this Christ would conquer-and that without the methods by which empires are normally expanded, of which Rome was a prime example.

டிசம்பர் 28 1992-ல் இந்தியாவின் தென்கோடியிலுள்ள கன்னியாகுமரியில் ஒரு விவேகானந்தர் விழாவில் முன்னாள் பிரதமர் பி.வி.நரசிம்மராவ் அவர்கள் (P.V.Narasimha Rao) இவ்வாறாக மனம் உருகி பேசினார்.

நண்பரே! உன் ஆத்துமாவில் தாகமாயிருக்கிறாயா? தாகம் தீர்க்கும் ஜீவத் தண்ணீரை இயேசு உனக்கு தருகிறேன் என்கிறார்.

ஒருவனாகிலும்

கிறிஸ்துவுக்காய் செலவு செய்வதில் நம்மில் அநேகருக்கு அதிகமாய் ஆர்வம் இருப்பதில்லை. உலக பிரகாரமான புராஜெக்ட்களுக்கு உலகம் எவ்வளவாய் செலவு செய்கின்றார்களென்று பாருங்கள். கோடிக்கணக்கான பணங்கள் செலவு செய்து திரைப்படங்களை எடுக்கிறார்கள். லட்சக்ககணக்காண ரூபாய்கள் செலவு செய்து தனியார் மருத்துவமனைகள், பள்ளிக்கூடங்கள், விடுதிகள், வீடுகள் என லாபநோக்கில் அமைக்கின்றார்கள். நாமும் கூட அவ்வாறே. தனியொருவர் நன்மைக்காக கணக்கு வழக்கின்றி செலவளிக்க முற்ப்படும் நம்மால் கடவுள் பணிக்கு அதிகம் கொடுக்க முன்வருவதில்லை. தன் கடைசி நயா பைசா வரைக்கும் செலவுசெய்து நூறாண்டுகளுக்கு முன் மக்கள் சேவையே இறை சேவையென கருதி அந்தகால கிறிஸ்தவ மிஷனரிமார்கள் மருத்துவமனைகளையும், பள்ளிக்கூடங்களையும் எழுப்பிச் சென்றார்கள்.

"இந்தத் தைலத்தை (பணத்தை) இப்படி வீணாய்ச் செலவழிப்பானேன்? இதை முந்நூறு பணத்திற்கு அதிகமான கிரயத்துக்கு விற்று தரித்திரருக்குக் கொடுக்கலாமே" என்று அவர்கள் சிந்திக்கவில்லை.(மாற்கு:14:5) அதன் பலனை இன்றைக்கு உலகறியும். பல கல்விமான்களை, கணிணி மேதைகளை, பிரபல மருத்துவர்களை அவை உருவாக்கின. கிறிஸ்துவின் நாமம் அவர்கள் மூலம் மகிமைப்பட வேண்டும்.

1992,1993-ல் "பைபிள்"எனும் தொலைக்காட்சி தொடர் தூர்தர்ஷன் சானலில் ஒளிபரப்பாகிக் கொண்டிருந்தது.அதில் கிறிஸ்தவ வேதாகம கதைகள் உலகம் சிருஷ்டிக்கப்பட்ட நாள் முதல் நடைபெற்ற சம்பவங்கள் அழகாய் படமாக்கப்பட்டு ஒளிபரப்பப் பட்டன. பலருக்கும், ஏன கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் சிலருக்கு கூட அது பிடிக்கவில்லை. முடிவில் அது ஒளிபரப்பாவது நிறுத்தப்பட்டது.ஏதேதோ காரணங்களால் அப்படியாகிப் போனது.யாரும் அதை தொடர்ந்து ஒளிபரப்பாக ஆக வேண்டிய முயற்சியை செய்யவில்லை.

இப்படியாக பைபிள் டிவி தொடர் 'கட்'டானதை தொடர்ந்து வெளியான கட்டுரை ஒன்றில் "தி வீக்" பத்திரிகை இந்த வசனம் எழுதி அதை தொடங்கியது. அது என்ன? "நன்மைசெய்கிறவன் இல்லை, ஒருவனாகிலும் இல்லை." (சங்கீதம்:14:3) என்ற வசனம் தான். (The Week 25:6:1993)
